Sri Lankan Airlines

Sri Lankan Airlines is the national carrier of Sri Lanka, established in 1947 and headquartered at Level 3, East Tower, World Trade Centre, Echelon Square, Colombo 01. Its main hub is Bandaranaike International Airport, and the airline operates flights to 42 destinations worldwide.

Originally launched as AirLanka in 1979, the airline was rebranded as Sri Lankan Airlines in 1998, becoming the largest airline in Sri Lanka.

Baggage Policy

Cabin Baggage:

  • Economy Class: One piece of cabin baggage per passenger

  • Business Class: Two pieces per passenger

  • Dimensions: Maximum 56 x 36 x 23 cm

  • Weight: Up to 7 kg

  • Additional Items: Passengers may carry items like a laptop, handbag, overcoat, or purse along with the cabin baggage.

  • Total linear dimension: 115 cm

Checked Baggage:

  • Economy Class: Up to 30 kg per bag; two bags allowed, each not exceeding 23 kg

  • Business Class: Up to 40 kg per bag; two bags allowed, each not exceeding 32 kg

  • Maximum Dimensions: 158 cm (length + width + height)

Check-In Options

Web Check-In:
Passengers with e-tickets can check in online and select their preferred seats using their PNR number. Online check-in is available from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure for all classes.

Mobile Check-In:
Travelers can check in via mobile, select seats, and receive the boarding pass and receipts via their registered email.

Airport Check-In:
Separate check-in counters are available for economy and business class passengers. Boarding passes can be collected at the counter after dropping off checked baggage.
