Swoop Airlines
Swoop is a Canadian ultra-low-cost airline and a subsidiary of WestJet, based at Hamilton International Airport, Ontario. Swoop flies to Canada, the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. Launched in 2017, Swoop’s first flight was in 2018 from Hamilton to Abbotsford and has since grown to over 20 destinations with a fleet of Boeing 737-800NG aircraft. Swoop also has a secondary hub at Edmonton International Airport for western operations.
Baggage Policy
Personal Item:
- One free personal item such as a purse, laptop bag, briefcase, tote bag or small backpack.
- Maximum dimensions: 41 × 15 × 33 cm (16″ × 6″ × 13″)
Carry-On Baggage:
- One additional carry-on bag for a fee.
- Maximum dimensions for purchased carry-on: 52 × 23 × 38 cm (21″ × 9″ × 15″)
Checked Baggage:
- Up to four checked bags.
- Weight limit: 23 kg (50 lbs) per bag; no bag can exceed 32 kg.
- Maximum linear dimension: 157 cm (62″).
- Hazardous items are not allowed.
Check-In Options
Online Check-In:
- Available from 24 hours to 1 hour before scheduled flight departure.
- Boarding passes can be printed or saved digitally.
Airport Check-In:
- Opens 3 hours before departure.
- Closes 60 minutes prior for international flights and 45 minutes prior for domestic flights.
- Passengers must carry all required travel documents for check-in.
Cabin and Seating
Economy Class:
- Swoop has a single economy class cabin with a no-frills service model.
- Passengers can add optional services such as baggage, meals, and Wi-Fi to customize their experience.
Seats:
- Standard seats are 3 × 3, 29″ seat pitch and 17″ width.
- Extra-legroom seats are 36″ seat pitch and are available for a fee, primarily in rows 1-6 on the right side of the aircraft.
In-Flight Entertainment:
- Streaming TV shows and movies through the Swoop app on your personal device.
- Must download the app before the flight.
Food and Beverages:
- Snacks and drinks are for purchase onboard.
- Sweet and savory options, hot and cold, alcohol and non-alcohol.
- Payments onboard are credit card only.
