Viva Aerobus
VivaAerobus is a Mexican low-cost airline, owned by IAMSA (the biggest bus company in Mexico) and co-founded with Irelandia Aviation. The main hub is Monterrey International Airport, and it flies to Mexico and the United States.
Baggage Policy
Personal Item:
- Every passenger is allowed one personal item: handbag, laptop bag, backpack, or shopping bag.
- Must fit under the seat in front of you.
- Maximum dimensions: 18” long x 14” high x 8” wide.
Carry-On Baggage:
- Light, Extra, and Smart fares include a carry-on bag.
- Maximum dimensions: 16” long x 10” wide x 22” high (including handles and wheels).
- Weight limits:
- Light or Extra: 22 lbs
- Smart: 33 lbs
- Oversized or overweight bags may be checked for a fee. If the flight is full or there’s not enough overhead space, some carry-ons may be checked for free.
Cabin Restrictions:
- Liquids, gels, creams, pastes, and aerosols must be in containers ≤100 ml (3.4 oz) in a transparent, resealable 1-liter bag.
- Medications over 100 ml require a doctor’s prescription.
- For US flights, powdered products over 12 oz (350 ml) must be checked.
Checked Baggage:
- The first checked bag is included with Extra (33 lbs) and Smart (55 lbs) fares.
- Max dimensions: 62 linear inches (length + width + height, including handles and wheels).
- Additional checked baggage can be purchased (up to 71 lbs).
Check-In Facilities
Web Check-In:
- Available from 72 hours to 4 hours before departure.
- Passengers must print boarding passes; a printed boarding pass is required at the airport (or USD 12 fee applies).
Airport Ticket Counter Check-In:
- Domestic flights: 2 hours to 45 minutes before departure.
- International flights: 3 hours and 45 minutes before departure.
