Aeromexico is the national airline of Mexico, based in Mexico City. It operates to over 90 destinations in Mexico, the Americas, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia. Besides its main hub in Mexico City, the airline also uses Guadalajara and Monterrey as secondary hubs.
Aeromexico has a strong alliance with Delta Air Lines, which owns a stake in the company, and offers more connectivity between Mexico and the US. The airline also has two subsidiaries – Aeromexico Connect (regional flights) and Aeromexico Contigo (focused on Mexican communities in the US).

Aeromexico Baggage Policy
Carry-On Baggage
- Basic Fare (Domestic Flights): Up to 10 kg (22 lbs) combined between a carry-on and a personal item.
- Classic, AM Plus and Premier Fares: Up to 15 kg (33 lbs) combined.
Liquids in Carry-On
- Each container must not exceed 100 ml, total of 1 liter per passenger.
- All items must be in a clear, resealable plastic bag.
Powder-Based Substances
- Allowed if under 350 ml (12 oz) per container.
- Makeup, baby formula, prescription medicines and ashes are accepted.
- TSA rules prohibit powder-based substances in open containers over 350 ml on US bound flights.
Important: Items purchased at airport shops or duty-free after security screening are allowed if packed in a sealed tamper-proof bag.
Aeromexico Cancellation Policy
- No cancellation fees for First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy on domestic and short-haul international routes.
- If you change your travel plans, the fare value remains, but you may pay the difference if the new fare is higher.
- Applies to bookings made via aeromexico.com, customer service, or airport counters.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days.
Key Points:
- Basic and Value fares affected by involuntary cancellations (e.g., weather, government restrictions) qualify for refunds.
- After 24 hours of booking, a $200 cancellation fee applies to most fares, except for flights within Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, and the U.S.
- Refunds can be in the form of the original payment or a travel voucher valid for 12 months.
- No cancellation fee applies in case of passenger or immediate family member death.
Aeromexico Delay & Cancellation Compensation
You are eligible for compensation if:
- The delay exceeds 3 hours.
- The flight is from Mexico.
- You were not notified at least 14 days prior to departure.
- You were denied boarding due to overbooking or missed a connection because of delays.
Compensation Amounts:
- $300 for flights under 1500 km.
- $485 for flights between 1500–3500 km.
- $725 for flights over 3500 km.
Additional Benefits:
- For delays over 2 hours: Food, drinks and 2 free communications (calls, emails or fax).
- For delays over 5 hours:
