Regional Express (Rex Airlines)
Regional Express Pty. Ltd., trading as Rex Airlines, is an Australian regional and domestic airline based in Mascot, New South Wales. It is the largest regional airline in Australia outside the Qantas Group and operates scheduled services to all six states. Rex Airlines is a subsidiary of Regional Express Holdings and offers both regional turboprop services and domestic jet services on major city routes.
Destinations
Rex Airlines initially operated regional routes across Australia with turboprop aircraft. In March 2021 we expanded into the domestic market with jet services on major city routes:
- Melbourne–Sydney
- Brisbane
- Canberra
- Gold Coast
- Adelaide
Rex Airlines Check-in Policy
Airport Check-in Timings
- Adelaide, Melbourne & Sydney Airports: 30 minutes prior to departure.
- Regional Airports: 20 minutes prior to departure
Passenger Reporting Time
- With Checked Baggage: 60 minutes before departure.
- Without Checked Baggage: 40 minutes before departure.
- Regional Airports: 30 minutes before departure.
Boarding Gate Deadline
- All passengers must be at the boarding gate 15 minutes before departure. Failure to do so may result in offloading and fare forfeiture.
EasyCheck-in (Online Check-in)
- Available only for passengers with e-ticket reservations and no checked baggage.
- If a booking has multiple passengers, all must be without checked baggage to use online check-in.
- Separate check-ins for individual passengers in the same booking are not permitted.
Special Assistance Requirements
Passengers who require additional assistance should contact Rex Airlines before check-in if they fall into any of these categories:
- Infants & Unaccompanied Minors
- Elderly, wheelchair-bound, or passengers with sensory impairments/medical conditions
- Passengers traveling with assistance dogs, oxygen, special harnesses or firearms
