British Airways

British Airways (BA) is the UK’s national carrier with its head office in London, England near Heathrow Airport.

It’s the second biggest UK airline by fleet and passenger numbers after EasyJet. In January 2011 BA merged with Iberia to form the International Airlines Group (IAG), a company registered in Madrid, Spain. IAG is now the third largest airline group in the world by revenue and the second largest in Europe.

Frequent Flyer Program

British Airways has a tiered loyalty program called the Executive Club which gives access to dedicated lounges and priority queues. Business customers are invited to join the Premier incentive program.

  • First Class passengers and Gold Executive Club members can access First Class Lounges.
  • Business Class passengers (Club World or Club Europe) and Silver Executive Club members can access Business Lounges.
  • Where BA doesn’t have a lounge, a third party lounge is often provided for premium or elite passengers.

After the 2011 merger with Iberia, BA merged its loyalty program with Iberia Plus and Air Miles to create the Avios program under IAG, so members can earn and redeem points across both airlines.
