Bamboo Airways

Bamboo Airways is a Vietnamese airline owned by the FLC Group, with its registration in Quy Nhơn, Vietnam, and its headquarters located in Cầu Giấy District, Hanoi. Established in 2017, the airline began operations on 16 January 2019 and follows a hybrid airline model. The airline operates a mixed fleet of narrowbody and widebody aircraft, with major hubs at Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Online Check-in Guidelines

Online check-in is available only for domestic flights operated by Bamboo Airways departing from Noi Bai (HAN), Da Nang (DAD), and Tan Son Nhat (SGN).

• Online check-in can be completed from 24 hours up to 1 hour before departure.
  
• Online check-in is not available for:
  
  • Passengers requiring special services (except special meals)
    
  • Deportees or passengers deemed inadmissible
    
  • Pregnant travelers or passengers traveling with children under 2 years
    
  • Bookings with more than 9 passengers
    

Bamboo Airways Baggage Policy

General Allowance

For standard fare passengers:

• 1 personal item – free of charge
  
• 1 carry-on bag – free of charge
  
• Checked / hold baggage – charges apply depending on the number of pieces
  
• Overweight and oversized items – fees vary based on weight and dimensions
  
• Sports equipment – fees may apply
  

Carry-on / Cabin Baggage

• Economy Class: 1 carry-on + 1 personal item (purse, briefcase, or laptop bag), free of charge
  
• Business Class: 2 carry-on bags + 1 personal item, free of charge
  
• Restricted items include perishable or strong-smelling food (e.g., durian, jackfruit) and pungent liquids (e.g., fish sauce, shrimp paste)
  
• Carry-on size & weight limits:
  
  • Carry-on: 115 cm (56 x 36 x 23 cm), max 7 kg
    
  • Personal item: 80 cm (40 x 30 x 10 cm), max 7 kg
    
• Jackets, umbrellas, duty-free items, and assistive devices (wheelchairs, strollers, crutches, etc.) do not count toward the carry-on limit
  
• Bulkhead seats do not provide under-seat storage, so all carry-on items must be stored in overhead bins during takeoff and landing
  

Checked / Hold Baggage

• Bamboo Plus: 1 piece, max 20 kg (44 lbs)
  
• Bamboo Business: 1 piece, max 30 kg (66 lbs)
  
• Maximum dimensions: 157 cm (length + width + height)
  
• Additional fees may apply for overweight, oversized, or extra bags depending on fare type or frequent flyer membership
  
• Bamboo Airways does not accept checked bags exceeding 30 kg or 157 cm
  

Sports Equipment

• Sports items such as golf bags, skis, surfboards, diving gear, hang gliders, hockey, and lacrosse equipment can be accepted as checked baggage if they meet size and weight restrictions
  
• Applicable fees vary depending on weight and type of equipment
  

Extra / Special Baggage Fees

• Charges apply for extra checked baggage or items beyond standard allowance
  
• Fees for overweight or oversized items are calculated based on size, weight and flight route
